English Lenguage Challenges

November 2014. We have finally reached the end of the semester and academic year. I must say that the “level four” in English, has not been at all easy.

I've noticed that the complexity is vastly superior compared to the other levels. It seems obvious, but I mean the leap of difficulty and objectively is fine, considering that one should know and learn the basics to understand and speak this language.

Generally, I learned at this level increasing the vocabulary and progress to writing in English, because for using the “blog” as a teaching aid. Writing class or class is a very good exercise; I better one understands the language; also the topics of the blogs were very entertained to learn more about classmates. Now, I think some weeks the topics could have been more subjective, for example when writing about “money” or “ecology”.

On the other side, what is most difficult for me is listening; usually I stay behind in the overall understanding of the dialogues and situations. It is definitive, is a headache not understand everything I hear. For this, I should exercise more such exercises for years is what I find most difficult English.

Outside the English class, I practice with listening to music in English, as an exercise I repeat the letters and then understand that say. Also, watch movies with subtitles, this is important to practice my worst part (listening) English.

I think, I need to practice vocabulary, grammar and fluency to achieve a higher level of this language. With practice, I will be able to achieve and think "talk" to a foreign English speakers is the best exercise I can have.

2014

When this year started, I said “this year will be very funny. World Championship, second to last year in the university, many proyects and good luck in everything”. Besides, in the chinese horoscope animals is Horse (I am Horse), these represent stability in put the foot in the earth.

Well, we stand november. The time fast pass like the wind and started to counting for this years. To good and bad times. Generally, 2014 has been a good year. As i said before, I love travel and I trip to Mendoza and south of Chilean (Huilo Huilo, is the best natural reserve I have seen in my life). In the jobs, this year has been full of proyects, above all, my job in “Londres 38” where I am in charge of the audiovisual área. I filmed many videoclips for independent bands music, this has been good year in the funny Jobs.

But, not all has been good. Two weeks ago an aunt suddenly was hospitalized. The diagnosis was “cerebral tumour”, what has been a shock to my family. Today, she recovers in my home, waiting for improve. Undoubtedly, the most painful in 2014.

¿what still have to do this year?

First, good way finished the academic year, for this pass at the last moment in the university (Short Films – Tesis). Continue my jobs in “Londres 38” and so to continue next year and finished once and for all my script. Ultimately finish filming the documentary I've been doing all year.

Money...

"Money” like song of Pink Floyd. The concept what changed of the world. The money is debauch of human being and changed of mind. Money for some is the happiness but other people represents survive…”make ends month”. Also, money means to different socio-economic gap.

In this time the human to steal, corrupt, bribes and even killed for money. The relationship of the human and money is really crazy. This is what I think about money.

…But, one has to live. So, the money transformed the means for living. For this, personally, I I've learned to manage my budget well and since it's something I've learned from my family.
…But, although is my critical thinking , I consider money serves as a "means" to get things done. For example, I was able to purchase equipment to develop myself as a filmmaker (Camera, tripod, sound equipment and “mac”).

If I was a millionaire, in the first instance will use money for help to my family, also would use for making any movies and humbly help people, I don’t know; contribute to the country, not with handouts but with creating places for citizens, especially in culture. 

So, it's like I consider money as a means, “not an end”. The money you get with work, with humility, not with abuse of power. And I repeat, money is not life changing, just like many other things helps.
I will hope, when we will live in a more equal and just world.

Ecology, environment, climate change and save the planet

Ecology, environment, climate change and save the planet. They are some important concepts that we hear every day. But, we do some about it? 

Today, we live on stage in when these topics have become important. Every day, we feel the climate change; temperatures changes, droughts, downpour, stranger sickness, etc… This represents lifestyles conflict with environment. 

I think that human beings are responsible for the ecological problem. Destroying green areas and building a false “progress”.  

But, every day, some people add to the ecological cause. Who?  For example, people changing the transport system of the car to the bicycle, creating “green” organizations and various protests against thermoelectrics, hydroelectrics or companies that threaten the environment (The most remembered is the fight of “Hidroaysén” in 2011). Then, I think that to produce large changes, we will have to start since educations, teaching at the boys the important for save the planet, the give value environment, only then, we will produce a change in the future. 


Personally, I have recycled in my home with my family. Plastics, glass and papers in different garbage box.  For example, I make recycled paper with ancient papers and so I create new books. Generally in my home, I have many plants. For other side, my family and me, we participate actively campaigns against hydroelectrics or companies that pollute the environment. The latter has been the struggle for "Alto Maipo".

Finally, I think the message at future should be to create more awareness about this issue, not to continue destroying what little is left of the planet earth.

A píece of News: "Caso Penta"

The piece of news I’m going to comment happened inside ours country. Is something what all knew but anybody was dare to say. I talk about “Caso Penta”. This news is related to the political affairs of our country, more specified, about financing of political campaigns.

First, in July on this year, Internal Revenue Service (SII) discovered bad used money tax, by economic group ¨Penta¨. This case is considered the most important Chilean economic fraud in contemporary history.

In August, the business owner Carlos Alberto Délano and Carlos Eugenio Lavín were charged in by the Internal Revenue Service (SII) for tax evasion. But, this not finished. Inside business group was known relationship with financing some politician, generally for right wing. So, the different investigations (SII, Ciper and others politicians) they made more transparent contributions political campaigns, when members of parliament as Felipe Kast, Ena Von Baer, Ivan Moreira (all, of UDI) and others like Andrés Velasco, received money of Penta´s Group.

This week, different political group, government and opposition, will meet for find responsible and legal action to follow. TV, internet, radios and newspapers all attentive to what will happen in these days.

This news is really one scandal and showed to worst side Chilean political. The money moving the world, and this not good. Corruption, power, money. The people no longer want more abuse. If some politician is involved with this group, they will pay with jail.

Best Friend...

When I was just a little boy, All spoken for  “best friend”, something changing all of time. Today, I don’t like talk about “best friend”, because I don’t have to prefer to different friends. But, for this work, I will talk about my classmate this life, with me in different battles, called Michel Diaz. We met in the school, when Michel got to seventh grade “D”. In your first day, I sat with him and I included in my friends group. Since this, we are great friends, we have share ours love for football (although, we are opponent, I like the “Universidad de Chile” and he , the arch-rivals “Colo Colo”), other thing, the political cause (we are going to protest before times of university), we shared many moments talking and drinking beers, etc… However, he is only person have been me in the good and bad times. We have never fought, and I know I can count on him.

If I had remember one good moment together, I memory the six years we got the Oktoberfest in Malloco, with all ours friends, even creating a name for ourselves, called “The Community of Beer”. We have travelled for different cities of Chile, inclusive in Argentina.

Finally, a friend is built over time. Michel was example for this.

Pearl Jam in Chile. (16 - 11 - 2011)

“The concerts”, is one of the topics I like to talk… is more; I have been many concerts in my life, for that, is very difficult decided what is the best.  Even though, there are some that make all your life.  One of this was my first time saw a “Pearl Jam” in Santiago.  This band is from Seattle, and was famous for played "grunge" in decade of the nineties with Nirvana, Alice in Chains and Soundgarden.

This memorable event was in November of 2011 in Monumental Stadium, three years ago. This day played Pearl Jam for second time in Chile. I went with my girlfriend (at the time) and two friends. The opening doors were chaotic, millions of people running in the main area (I hate agglomeration). I was lived on the real rock concert. When the clock struck nine, turn off the lights on the stadium and the Seattle band enter the stage. I remember I closed my eyes when the first chords of “Unthrought Know" sounded. I can´t believe this beautiful moment, we didn´t imported full of people in their area. For three hours and more thirty songs played, Pearl Jam recorded in the best moments in my life, played memorable songs like to "Given to Fly", "I Got Id", "Nothingman", "Betterman", "Jeremy", "Alive" or "Black". 

This concert showed me what the Pearl Jam is a great band, my favourite. Today I remember as a day very beautiful moment and a compliment dream, listen to the soundtrack or my life.
